Civil and Structural Engineering Manager

Turn ideas into practical solutions – we are seeking an experienced Civil and Structural Engineering Manager with proven experience in a similar NZ based role. Competitive total remuneration will be offered to the successful candidate.

Mainstream Engineering (MEL) is an established engineering consultancy with offices in Kawerau, Hamilton, Nelson, and Christchurch.

Our engineering team has been providing solutions to industry since 2004 and our reputation for excellent service delivery grows. Our experienced team of professional engineers, project managers, designers, and construction supervisors annually deliver practical, compliant, and cost-effective professional service. Being mobile and responsive, MEL staff work collaboratively with our clients, applying both technical expertise and practical experience to provide quality engineering and project delivery support.

Based from our Eastern Bay of Plenty office in Kawerau, the successful candidate will provide leadership of MEL’s Civil/Structural work delivery, key point of contact with MEL’s Civil/Structural Partners and development of MEL’s Civil/Structural capabilities. Delivering customer value is the driving ethos of Mainstream Engineering so the clear understanding and management of client expectations and communication to staff to support this is required.

 Key requirements for this role include:

  • Proven leadership skills and experience in similar roles.
  • A Washington Accord (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Proven understanding of what is required to meet client needs.
  • Strive to always meet agreed customer expectations and committed deliverables.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience with the ability to guide and mentor staff towards achieving quality and practical solutions.
  • Experience in full project lifecycle delivery.
  • Senior level engineering experience with experience in Pulp and Paper, Food and Beverage and/or other heavy industry experience.
  • Proven contractor management experience.
  • Ideally has experience in an engineering consultancy environment.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
